GINSENG & COMPOST 

In the early 1990's, it was Paul's decision to begin farming ginseng in it's native setting, the hardwood forest. In the early 1900's, the fur trappers and woodland growers always spoke that "leaf mold" was needed to promote and protect their ginseng plants. With research and that information, we developed our commercial composting operations as they are today.

While we relate leaf compost as a vitamin for the ginseng, we found an increased demand for high quality compost in the consumer market. We certified our leaf compost products in 2001 through the United States Composting Council's Seal of Testing Assurance Program. At the time, it was of only two products in Wisconsin to meet the expectations.

Hsu is proud to supply the market with the highest quality soils and growing media, as well as organic and commercial growing supplies. We also  custom manufacture soils and private label/package products for customers throughout the Midwest. Our recycling services are known around the State, serving such entities as the central and northern Wisconsin Walmart/Sam's Club and various municipalites and landfill operations around the State.
